As stated on IFT-011 part 2, WWAN products and mobile devices are required to have local testing since April 3rd, 2018. However, there is no accredited lab to do local testing under this regulation yet. Therefore, local testing won’t be required until the first lab gets the accreditation. Even though there is no accredited lab, IFETEL will continue accepting document

applications and will issue provisional certificates. A product with IFETEL provisional certificate may get the permanent certificate by having the product tested under IFT-011 part 2. The official Mexican standard NOM-029-ENER-2017 also has been approved and will take effect in April 25th, 2018. This standard specified for external power supplies with output power less than or equal to 250 Watts, including for cellphones, laptop, etc.
